And One Dash of Bittersweet Chocolate Chips

by Morgan Weiler

And lastly, I add one dash of bittersweet chocolate chips to my cooking bowl.

Yes, I know the correct term is semi-sweet. I realize this. But in this moment, in my cliche cooking metaphor, let me make the switcheroo.

Throughout my internship at Sundog, I have laid out all my ingredients: I began my journey delving into social media, researching techniques and observing analytics. I began to understand what it means to have coworkers as family, and I slowly started to soak in the concept of “work hard, play hard”. As I continued to add ingredients and mix my batter, I began to brainstorm on client work, implement press releases and embark on my passion project. My doughy cookies started to form before my eyes, and before I knew it… they were complete.

Although, no recipe is ever quite finished without a sweet little touch. While I add my bittersweet chocolate chips to the mix and end my last two weeks as an intern, you soon realize why my chocolate chips taste the way they do. I am so incredibly thankful to have been a part of such a great internship program. My mentors and fellow mentees made this nothing short of a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Now that I am being added to the recipe, I cannot wait to see what happens once my metaphoric chocolate chip cookies are oh, so sweet and fresh out of the oven.

If you’ve ever ended an amazing journey to embark on a new one, you know just how bittersweet it feels. You understand that a lot of change will occur, yet you comprehend the endless possibilities and the idea that your chocolate chip cookies may end up getting sweeter along the way.

Stay tuned & stay sunny,

Intern Morgan
