Pin Away Your Labor Day

I once heard, “Pinterest isn’t for the past or present, but it’s a way to plan for the future.” That line might not be as powerful as words from Gandhi, but it speaks the truth. So friends, let’s plan for the future. With Labor Day in a few days, let’s start there.

Here are a few recipes I’ve pinned for this holiday weekend. They are sure to help make your weekend easy and tasteful.

1. Watermelon Salsa
Watermelon Salsa is a great way to stay hydrated and healthy. Plus, it adds an extra elements to salsa and it’s pretty amazing. Spend less time in the kitchen and make this ahead of time. (Warning: letting it sit may make the salsa watery.)

2. Creamy Potato Salad
Potato Salad and my Aunt’s Beans are two of my favorite summer side dishes. They also make great leftovers. Today, lets talk potato salad. If you’re planning on toasting to the end of summer this weekend, it’s a good idea to have a base in you tummy. This salad should do the trick.

3. Pulled BBQ Chicken Sandwiches
If the grill is something you shouldn’t be operating this weekend, think about creating a make-ahead of time meal! Crockpots kick butt when it comes to those. This will also allow more time with your friends and family. Place a crockpot bag in it to make cleanup easy too!

4. 10 Twists on Hotdogs
Maybe you’re looking to stay the traditional route, and want to use that fabulous grill. I respect that. Hotdogs are an easy answer to fill that grill-fix. Plus, they’re one of my favorite meals. Go plate-less by adding your potato salad on your hotdog. Don’t knock-it until you try it.

5. Watermelon Cucumber Cooler
Extra watermelon from your watermelon salsa? Let’s put it towards a good cause. For the adults, sip and reflect on your summer with this nice refreshing drink. It won’t disappoint.

Pinterest is a great tool to find fun and creative recipes, plan your dream wedding, pin those ‘one day’ house ideas and those DIY weekend projects. Use Pinterest to find homemade Christmas ideas. If you don’t want your family to see what you pin, make your board private.

Whatever you use Pinterest for, I hope you enjoy making memories from your pins.

Have a safe and happy Labor Day weekend,

Emily
